DEVELOPMENT SQUADS (COMPETITIVE SWIMMING CLUB AWARDS 1-6)
Our Bronze, Silver and Gold Development Squads train with a view towards competitive swimming. Children are able to complete The Swim England Swimming Club awards which help children make the transition from the Swim England Learn To Swim Programme to a club level swimmer, plus they can complete distance awards 1000 metres to 1 mile.
During their time in the Development squads, they will learn legal starts and turns as well as timed swims and will have an eight week assessment where they will need to reach various timed swim targets. These will be used to assess their suitability for the Squads and to monitor their improvement over the weeks.
They will also need to learn the development terminology, this will be given to them in their first lesson, and how to use the pace clock for rest intervals and start times. They work on timed sets using the pace clock for rest intervals and starts (using the blocks) and turns.
ADULT SWIMMING LESSONS
Our adult swimming lessons are very popular among those who didn’t get the opportunity to learn when they were younger or who perhaps want to brush up on certain strokes or certain aspects of their technique. Available to those aged 16 and over.
